Big In Japan

I love everything Japanese. I have always loved the style, the culture, food, landscape, language, art, literature, and you get the idea. I must also add that I find Japanese women very attractive. Japan just blows me away. They are so different from everything I know and understand. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie Lost in Translation, and although some people may feel it was poking fun at the Japanese way of life, I found the movie to exemplify it. I own various books by Japanese authors and I also have a growing DVD collection of old Japanese movies and a few new ones.

I find the images of the cherry blossom covered country side to be so captivating and at the same time the crowded streets and bright lights of Tokyo so exciting. The Japanese youth set new standards and trends constantly with their fashion and music. It all just seems to be extremely exaggerated and I love to see idea’s pushed to the edge. On one hand Japan is so modern and on the other hand it is so ancient.

I have watched the TV series SHOGUN with Richard Chamberlain quite a few times. The show maintains a certain aspect of reality and truth to the history and customs of the Japanese. There is one scene that lasted 10 minutes showing the tea ceremony where a man pours tea for his wife in an elaborate manner that is beyond my ability to describe. We have all heard tales of the honorable Samurai and the Geisha’s who perfected Kabuki. All the art forms were taught and practiced to a point of absolute perfection. Even the art of making Sushi!

Modern Japan is a ‘trip’. The products and services available are mind boggling. There are so many weird products that can be bought straight out of a vending machine. While most of Asia tries to maintain a conservative view, Japan has some how become the kinky capital of the East. Bangkok may be known most for the strip bars and so on but where else other that Japan can you find a product like this on the shelf of a supermarket??!! I found this image on this website where the author has bought various strange items while in Japan and documented them on his blog. It is totally worth checking out. Yes it is pudding!

Japan brings 2 words to my mind, Honor and Tradition. So do me a favor. Hug a Japanese person today. And if she is hot, give her my email address. I am counting on you Hawaii boys.

Dude, I love this group called Shonen Knife. A band of Japanese girls and they sang on the tribute album for The Carpenters... they were really very good. They rocked with Top of the World. They have a few albums out...check out their website here

I will hug a Japanese girl and make her giggle.
