Bush Pisses Me Off Again

*before you read this I just want you to know that this is my personal opinion and you do not have to agree with it. I hope for some interesting feedback but if you want to cuss me out then please get your own fucking blog…

A while back I read an article about the US selling F-16 jets to Pakistan. These are capable of delivering nuclear war heads… Refer to this website if you want all the details:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A800-2005Mar25.html

It basically states that in 1990, sale of these jets to Pakistan was banned, but obviously now that Pervez Musharraf has been such an asset to Bush’s “War on Terror” in Afghanistan, he has to be thrown a bone, I mean rewarded. Sorry Tony, you are Bush’s one and only lap dog.

This link: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1371049/posts states “a federal criminal investigation has uncovered evidence that the government of Pakistan has made clandestine purchases of U.S. high-technology components for use in its nuclear weapons program in defiance of American law”.

Another news article quotes US state officials saying ”India is contemplating a very large purchase of fighter planes, but added that it is up to India to decide which country it will purchase them from.” The US has already offered to sell India, the newer model of the F-16, which is the F-18.

Although I am inspired to write some analytical essay, dissecting the articles to which I have referred, quote facts and link various web sites, and scrutinizing every aspect of the political reasoning behind this transaction… I will not. To be honest with you, I had a pretty heavy night and I am too fucking hung over. Instead I am going to bitch and complain as best as I can. Because this is my blog, and if you don’t like it, you can get the fuck out!!! (Eddie Murphy, Delirious) I am going to assume that we are all equally aware enough to realize the motive behind the Bush Camp’s actions. And we can see the obvious stupidity in the references above. It is business as usual and manufacturers of these jets, Lockheed, will be making big money, some of which I am sure will find its way into Bush’s pockets. And as far as the business aspect of this goes, they have agreed to sell 24 aircrafts to Pakistan but they hope to sell up to 126 aircrafts to the Indian air force at over $35 million a pop. How bout them apples??!! We have seen and heard this all, and dealings like this take place all the time, especially here in Indo, which is one of the most corrupt countries in the world, if not THE MOST. Do we actually believe that the current President of the United States of America is above this thievery, at the expense of a nuclear war?

But what really chaff’s me is that something like this just glides by under the radar. Yes there obviously have been news articles, as I have referred to them here but where is the real coverage? Just momentary mentions on CNN and BBC? They are the 2 largest news agencies in the world and I am positive that any cable viewing individual in the Far East does rely on their coverage in one way or another. And forget about American news coverage. FOX news is probably more concerned about the Michael Jackson trial and how Ludacris, Marlin Manson, and MTV, are a bad influence to your kids. I would not know honestly because I do avoid watching FOX NEWS completely. Right now all I see on BBC is coverage on who the next pope will be, Prince Charles wedding, and some Prince from Monte Carlo’s funeral. The last of which was the most interesting. Cause you got to admit that Monte Carlo is wikid (they host the best F1 racing leg) and that Prince did kick ass when he defied France and let US ships dock in his ports during the cold war. And not to mention he married Grace Kelly. You was de man Renier!! But that’s not what I am on about.

What really pisses me off as well is that America does this shit and gets away with it. They have such hypocritical policies and they impose them on everyone else. Who the fuck died and made you king? They basically give Pakistan the ability to start a nuclear war while they threaten to annihilate Iran and North Korea for developing nuclear weapons. And they did go into Iraq under the pretence that Saddam had WMD’s, blah, blah, blah. The USA, to my knowledge, is the only country so far to have ever used “the bomb” in a war, against civilians. And now they preach all this crap? According to one source, it is estimated that the US nuclear stock pile at the end of fiscal 2004, was 10,350 warheads. It also states that the US “is the only nation to deploy nuclear weapons outside its borders--excluding warheads on submarines”. Why the hell do you have more bombs than you need to blow the planet up to ten times over? I have never understood that. I mean there must be a reason because I know that the US government does employ some pretty smart people, obviously not the current President, but there must be some people in the system who can point out this absurdity. Or maybe I am just ignorant and do not understand the economics behind this. That is a possibility that has not yet been discarded.

I have raved enough now and I have gotten this matter that has been plaguing me for the last few weeks off my chest. So my blog is serving a purpose, if only for me to vent my frustrations, which all my employees and family will reap the benefit of. I will no longer blame them for the decline of Modern Civilization as I know it. One thing to add though, in case some random’s do stumble across this site and decide to rip me up, I am a full blooded Indian but in no way is this, a patriotic rant. Apart from Bruce Springsteen singing “Born in The USA”, (just cause the man got so much soul when he sings it) I honestly believe that all patriotism is fucking stupid. This is probably because I am fortunate enough to have lived in so many places all my life that I do not consider my self to be from any one place really. I have many American friends and they are some of the coolest, most generous, understanding, people I know and I would in no way diss them personally. I do know that other counties are way worse than the US, but do keep in mind that they do not pose as the world model for democracy. I do know that the US does plan to destroy some of its nuclear stock pile and cut it in half in fact over the next 10 years. I have lived in the US and love traveling around the wonderful country. And apart from that I do not know much more, so feel free to educate me.

With that said, Aloha to you all, and good night.

Avi,

I came accross your blogg while surfing and felt i should give you my two cents/sense and respond to your thoughts on "Bush Pisses me off again".

Good to hear you are opinionated about what is an important subject, but sorry to tell you that most of your thoughts are unfounded and hardly backed up, sometimes by anecdotes which cant hold water. Understandably you are just rambling on a hung over sunday morning, and great that you try to make your analysis entertaining, but then again thats all it ends up being... now tell me how different is FOX... they get away by driving their biases packaged in an entertaining fashion so it sticks, i find this unhealthy for so many ignorant people who have no understading of what is really going on and are easily indoctrinated by propaganda media just because it is entertaining and catchy.

No offence but i thought i could offer you some advice to read up on theories of international relations which can help you look at such happenings with a broader and more informed frame of mind...

Here are some thoughts that have led to modern day theories of international relations for you to ponder in the meanwhile:

1) The senselessness of war in an economically interwoven world -
‘The commerce & industry of a people no longer depend on the expansion of its political frontiers … A nation’s political & economic frontiers do not now
necessarily coincide … Military power is socially & economically futile … It is impossible for one nation to seize by force the wealth or trade of another – to
enrich itself by subjugating or imposing its will by force on another … War, even when victorious, can no longer achieve those aims for which peoples strive’ ~ Norman Angell, The Great Illusion (19..?), pp. 176-77

2)‘… Multipolarity is a theory of rivalry, of competing interests that only the enemies of freedom would cheer … There is no more dangerous theory in international politics than that we need to balance the power of America with other competitive powers – different poles around which nations gather … It is an anachronism … It is dangerous because it is not rivalry but partnership we need – a common will & a shared purpose in the face of a common threat’
~ Condoleeza Rice (dont be biased because she said this, after all despite her motives she is a smart woman), US National Security Adviser,Quoted in: The Straits Times, 26 July 2003

3)‘… We need one polar power but [one] which encompasses a strategic partnership between
Europe & America & other countries too … I think the danger of rival poles is that you end up
reawakening some of the problems that we had in the old Cold War with countries playing different
centres of power off against each other … That destabilizes the world’ Tony Blair, British PM, interviewed by The Financial Times, www.ft.com, 27 April 2003

4) ‘The brief history of the 1990s is not a good indicator of what the future holds for US military involvement in Europe & Northeast Asia. That issue will likely be
resolved in the early years of the current century, & the determining factor will be whether a potential
hegemon emerges in either region that the US must help contain. Only the threat of a peer competitor is likely to provide sufficient incentive for the US to
risk involvement in a distant great-power war’ ~ Mearscheimer ‘The Future of the American Pacifier’, Foreign Affairs, Sept/Oct 2001, p. 50.

5) ‘This correlation [between democracy & peace] still stands as one of the few non-trivial ssertions that political science can make concerning international politics … The integrating forces of economic modernization &
technological change .. will tend over time to blur the boundaries between civilizations & promote a homogeneous set of political & economic institutions among the world’s most advanced states’
~ Fukuyama, ‘Second Thoughts’,The National Interest, 1999

6)‘The people of different civilizations have different
views on the relations between God & man, the individual & the group, the citizen & the state, parents & children, husband & wife, as well as differing views of the relative importance of rights & responsibilities, liberty & authority, equality & hierarchy. These differences are the product
of centuries. They will not soon disappear.’ ~ Samuel Huntington, ‘The Clash of Civilizations?’ Foreign Affairs 72:3 (Summer 1993), p. 25.

Look forward to your thoughts on other issues once you have marinated on some of these leading thoughts.

regards,

Sir Irafath

Thanks for the feedback cuz. After I do "marinate" on you points I will be sure to put a post up in response. I just got back to Jakarta so reality is slowly sinking back in. I have not watched any TV or even picked up a news paper in over a week!! Amazing...
