The Kinks

I do not really have much to do here on the weeknights and I am trying to avoid going out so I cut down drinking. But that does not work when I have a bottle of Grey Goose at home and I kick back with a stiff one while downloading music. I must have downloaded at least 300 songs over the last few days. The speeds here are awesome. I have even managed to catch up with a whole new season of South Park.

Yesterday I took a trip back to the old school with The Kinks. They are one of the most awesome bands of the 60’s that are sometimes overlooked. Also from England they were not as involved in the “Western Invasion” of Rock ‘n’ Roll as The Beatles or the Rolling Stones were. Their music remained in my opinion, more traditional. One of their big US hits was ‘You Really Got Me Going’, but apart from they that they have a string of phenomenal tracks. Their music is extremely diverse in sound and style. If you are a fan of music from that era then The Kinks is one band you can not afford to over look.

This is one track that has kept me entertained over the years when I am overwhelmed in an urban environment.
