Dreams - The Game

'The Doctor's Advocate' was released way back in 2006, but out here I dont think The Game got the props he deserved for this album. His first album 'The Documentary' was produced by Dr. Dre, his childhood role model. The Game grew up listening to Snoop, Dre, Pac, NWA, Biggie, and all the other gangster rappers of the 90's. His respect for the era and is predecessors was solidified on the release of his second album, The Doctor's Advocate'. Dre was not involved in the production of the album but it was clearly dedicated to him with over 30 references to him. Producers on this album included Kanye, Will.i.am, Nate Dog, and others. The album recieved mixed reviews but in my opinion, it was a decent revival of gangster rap. Kanye's production skills are unmatched. The Game is a controversial character and is notorious for his clashes with other prominent rappers like 50 Cent and Jay-Z. Some of his lyrics may be labled as sexist and violent, but after listening to some of his tracks you cant deny the man has got talent. The track I dig most is 'Dreams' from his first album. This track was also produced by Kanye. His latest album LAX just dropped this year.

"Dreams"

I woke up out dat coma, 2000 and 1

Left Eye had a "DREAM!"
So i reached out to Kanye and "brought you all my dreams!"

But anything is possible ,if 50 Vivica
Heard of lifes obstacles, found my way through the maze
Then joy turned to pain like,Frankie Beverly and Maze
Used to dream about bein' Unsigned Hype
Till i was crushed my Dave Mase, almost let my pen fall asleep on a page
Daydreamin yesterday
Dozin off backstage
I tought i saw Eazy talkin to Jam Master Jay
So i walked over heard Jam Master say
Its a hardknock life, then you pass away
They say sleep is the cousin' of death
So my eyes wide open 'cause a dream is kin to ya last breath

Rushin in this 40 ounce
Lettin the ink from my pen bleed
Coz Martin Luther King had a "DREAM!"
Aaliyah had a "DREAM!"
Left Eye had a "DREAM!"
So i reached out to Kanye and "brought you all my dreams!"
